Barcelona and the British Africa Club
We arrived at our family run eco-friendly hotel, The Hostal Grau Barcelona, 200 metres off Las Ramblas. With the most amazing soft beds! Unfortunately it was just around midnight, so we knew that it might be difficult to get a meal. Although we have never struggled to get a drink at any time of night in Spain, sadly most bars as you would expect stop serving food around midnight.
We walked uphill away from Las Ramblas and the latin area and after asking in several bars we were advised to try Obamas a.k.a. The British Africa Club !
The bar man who greeted us explained that they did not do food either at this time of night however they did serve a serious gin and tonic and he was right.
This bar has live music every night and the atmosphere was very pleasing so we stayed until 3.00 a.m.
This bar is so much fun that we and others we met here went back every night !
