Like so many other people we had been caged in for months during our first Covid lockdown of 2020. All travel plans were cancelled. We toyed with entertaining ourselves at home but even taking photos for Instagram and creating cookery videos for Youtube like most people still left us feeling shortchanged.
For a brief period in August we here in the UK were allowed out to play before the second lockdown was announced. We enjoyed the British Eat Out Help Out campaign and after deep discussion decided a raiding party onto a Covid free Greek Island was a risk worth taking.
We hit Kos Island on our second week of release and were amazed how friendly the Greek locals were. For me I will never forget how fresh and what good value their fresh fish for lunch was each day.
Many Restaurants around the coast offered a fish dinner for two including Greek salad, a carafe of wine and a lingering taste I can still remember that still makes me smile.
I sincerely hope that this year of 2021 we are allowed to resume our touring and you will be the first to read about it.
